The Architecture of a Quiet Heart

'Loving the moments of silence and peace,

When all of the chaos around me will cease;

Only the whispers of heaven then reach

The praying hearts that continually need

More of assurance, more of the flame,

Less of ignorance, shameful blame;

More of abundance of joy and grace,

Less of the patterns repeating the same phase.

Sweeter aroma lies within the first love,

When rain starts falling on all from above;

Greatest surrender is then like a key,

That unlocks the wall of the heart's unforeseen plea.'

The Reflection

As I wrote those words, coffee cup in hand, sitting in His stillness and waiting on the Lord, I was reminded of how He operates. He never forces or pushes; instead, He moves lovingly with encouragement, as a good Father does. His character is all-empowering and always truthful—never harsh or violent. A Father who loves His children is focused entirely on their best interests, their safety, and their growth. Just as earthly parents raise their children, our Heavenly Father gently guides us through valleys and hills, inviting us back to His presence and His fields of wisdom and mercy.

However, if we are "acting out"—using words that intentionally hurt others—we have already crossed a line. We enter the "gray matter," where nothing good can grow. We step onto soil that sinks not only our own walk with the Lord but draws our peers down with us. The same mouth that praises the Lord and lifts up beautiful prayers cannot produce hateful comments or create chaotic drama and gossip. Harshness and rudeness of heart can never align with the will of the Lord.

The "Martha mentality" easily outruns God, using strong words and "all-knowing" power based on past deeds. But when one foot repeats an old pattern while the other tries to step into the newness of God’s will, the inner division breaks a person. This produces a chaotic spiral that only deepens old wounds. Healing cannot happen until our hearts fully align with God’s heart.

The Power of the Tongue

One tiny part of the body, the tongue, has the power to build up or tear down. The Father, who sees everything and orchestrates the whole scene, is pleased with speech that builds with Him. Whenever we use our God-given talents to give Him glory, surrendering to His ways and allowing Him to reshape and restore us, we join His "building team." A Kingdom mindset requires us to spend time at Jesus' feet like Mary, rather than building our own temples first.

When we do the opposite—using words of harshness, rudeness, and division—we grieve the Holy Spirit. We not only block our own progress but hinder others trying to build with the Father. One disobeying child having a tantrum can cause a strife that requires the entire work to pause. Nothing can be achieved from a place of mistrust or misalignment.

The Father’s Patience

Our Father is patient. When a toddler learns new skills, it takes a parent countless attempts to help them master the task. Whether it is eating, walking, or climbing, the first time is always scary. But with help, that moment of success becomes a breakthrough. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but the Father can transform anyone He chooses. The prayers of the righteous can move mountains, and only a mustard seed of faith is needed to reach the Father’s ear.

Self-Examination

Are you ready to be on His team to build and conquer? Is your heart in alignment? Do you feel Him calling you to repentance, searching for the hidden things He wants to reveal in this hour? Is your mouth speaking truth with love, or does darkness still have a foothold you haven't brought to the Cross? Is pride making you stumble in the darkness?

The Father is ready to heal the unhealthy parts. He invites everyone to the altar to become small again, like little children. If we forgive others, we will be forgiven. Streams of living water flow from the hearts of those who love God—waters that are clean, fresh, and clear. In that reflection, what do you see? Do you see the goodness of a builder, or the "cancer of the soul" that tears down?

The Harvest

The Father sees the roots. Just as He lets the wheat and the tares grow together until the harvest, He allows us to walk together until the time of judgment. Are we ready to be His watchmen to reprogram our actions for the Kingdom? Are we willing to rip off the old garments that stifle our creativity for the next season? We cannot build while limiting God. It is time to uproot the secrets and bring them to light. In the painful moments of renewal, He is simply being a good Father: helping His children grow into trees that produce sweet fruit to share with the world.

I especially connected with the opening poem. I liked your imagery in the reflection in how He leads us thru valleys and over hills, constantly calling us back to the "fields of wisdom". Those are the fields I strive to find with His spirit guiding me!
