Balance

What does a perfect balance look like? When a juggler is playing with the balls and performing tricks a great balance and focus is needed for not losing the balls. When someone is climbing up the mountain, they have to keep their eyes in the goal ahead not lose their balance. Once it happens, just one tiny look sideways or peeking behind, the balance needs to be found again.

In our lives we have to find a combination that works for us, balancing out our personal life including work, hobbies, family time and possibly studies. If one part is missing or out of balance the whole picture is soon in misalignment and needs readjusting.

When Jesus walked on the water He showed an example of something that requires great faith and that divine action had His disciples gasping their breath. When Peter wanted to try it, He lost His balance facing fears as he forgot to keep His eyes in Jesus.

How many times we lose our balance just because we take our eyes off of Jesus. We forget the path, the truth is no longer present and it suddenly gets darker. Any type of fear of failing can work as a trigger. When sudden what ifs start flooding our minds we soon realize that our thoughts are out of balance. The it results as being unstable in all of our action. The strength is gone, the faith once so strong, has weakened to a level, we hardly see ourselves as believers and wonder what all happened to us. Sometimes darkness sends just one arrow to shake our balance. When it hits our core, we have to have our full armor on to be able to stand firm in our faith.

For as long as we live we have a battle inside of us. It may not look very obvious to other people, we might be able to protect our balance and practice calmness in the midst of storms. But all in all the battle is always there. To resist the temptation and keep pushing forward in faith regardless of the circumstances. Balancing out all areas in our lives requires commitment daily. To take the time to prepare well. To have a full equipment ready. To have a goal present at all times. To be in tuned with the circumstances and so on. When we look at all this in a biblical light it is easy to point out the key elements we need. Do we have enough time for prayer and reading the word? Are we fully oriented to follow God's lead in His footsteps by listening to His guidance as Holy Spirit leads. Do we know the manual well enough to know the instructions on the day of challenges? What about our schedules? Do they allow us to change the order of things as they come when circumstances suddenly change? Is there flexibility in our lives? Do we have helpers in our lives in the time of need? What does our team look like? As I'm picturing all this I think about the mountain climbers again. They are reaching the mountain top, one step at the time. Their equipment must be high quality and their eyes have to keep the focus at all times. Not looking down. Not to lose the balance. what happened to Lot's wife when she looked back disregarding the warnings?

When we focus, it gets easier. Easier to manage the different winds and conditions. Because they will come. But we have to be ready at all times. Have a well balanced life with Jesus every day. We are headed to the celebration that is forever.
