The highs and lows

As I reflect on the flow of the water and how the movement of the tides alternates in perfect harmony, I am reminded of the order established by our Almighty God. From the beginning, He created everything in intricate detail, beautifully structured and designed for a specific purpose to bring life and allow it to flourish.
In life, we see the seasons change. Living creatures change colors, migrate, and adjust to new territories. There is a constant flow of creativity in life, and nothing is supposed to stay the same forever. Over time, those fine lines develop into distinguished marks that carry our stories to future generations. Pages turn and stories adapt to the moment, yet they keep the same core message from the beginning. The highs and lows of life are part of the natural rhythm established to sustain the works of God's hand. The wind blows harder in the midst of transformation, yet a soothing calmness offers an oasis right after the stormy season has passed.
In the big picture, we are like dust, yet God's hand details every piece of creation. He knows every hair on our head and gives power to the waves to reach the shore. That all-knowing grace lives within us as believers. We cannot hide from it or seek it on the outside; we must simply abide.
When seasons change and our challenges increase, we may easily slip into panic mode. But in the lows, we must hand the steering wheel back to God immediately. The everlasting circle of life will carry us through another wave, whether it is a low or a high tide. Within that rhythm, we can find rest knowing that in this temporary cycle, we are deeply significant to our Creator. He cares, even when life feels suffocating and makes us doubt.
Oftentimes, the tides change due to external indicators that push us naturally into transition. We should not fight against the tides, but learn to surf in the Spirit, receiving His calming presence as our daily, firm foundation. From that angle, it is easy to ride into the next era, which will open at just the right time. He holds the number of our days and goes before His own.
